satori yet another a+, Nightbreed ;)
cthu1hu this looks frighteningly like a style i just made.
Butz Very nice. The coolest thing is media player controls
satori wtf mates? this guy, Bryson, has flooding for some time now.... :?
sMs BAN the flooder =(
sMs i see u have talents using bbi plug =D u should have spent many hours creating this "CLAP CLAP CLAP". But im asking myself: is this still blackbox?
dgen ignore the mofo
Nightbreed Thanks all that's not spam.. lol.. Yes sMs %100 blackbox :)... I created the Vista style in DesktopX first and went to see how porting it over to bbi would go.. And that to Knockdownshawn for his screenies of Vista beta 2, I had reference graphics to go on :)
lexxca wow, cool work nb!!.... what are some elements in start-bar? on my creations are the icon of buttons with "style:none" over a frame have pink outglows...
Nightbreed Thanks lexxca. The whole bar, aside from systembarEX is just bbi set at a hight of 34 and a png of the top round part that makes up the start button and extends the rest of the lenght with a transparent strip that's followed with the regular Vista toolbar graphic.. hard to discribe.. icons however, is just an icon image pasted onto a toolbar png so I don't bother with masking with that. um, the menu with the gradient texted shortcuts are custom colors that I used pixie to grab the gradient to and from from the actual startmenu... more later when I figure out where I left off ;)
Nightbreed I still have to do the actual 'real' start panel... but that'll be easy ... hehe
Roots Not bad, I am really not a huge fan of the vista look. But that isn't bad, I like the wmp11 thing you did, it looks great.
sMs Dont get mad... i like ur skills but my point is this... if u like so much windows alike... why do u use blackbox? or maybe u r trying to create a new Shell branch.. blackdows =P
Nightbreed Honestly? When I see other theming sites and gadgets from other programs, I get the, "I wonder if bbinterface can do it" thought... and I just do it. Since I already created a desktopX theme prior to this, I already had the graphic files done, so making this a bbi theme took only 15 mins.. besides, it's always good to give people the idea that, "it can be done" thing. :D
Nightbreed Why do I use blackbox? have you looked at resource usage of blackbox over any other shell? Blackbox is the most stable shell to build anything on. So, why not use blackbox? Besides, it's called having fun.. :P And maybe I will come out with my shell ... lol
sMs LOL 15 minuteS? =x i think i would take me a days =P
Nightbreed nah.. it's rather fast if you're using a graphics program that supports image slicing, like Photoshop. You draw out the whole thing then use the slice tool to cut the graphics to your layout. Then just export the whole thing.. Very quick way. :)
Shawan wow That looks really clean and cool, impressive :D
Roots Yeah if you get used to photoshop and all the spliceing it goes really really fast :p And Blackbox runs 21,311k on my sistem, that is LESS then the new beta msn client running at 23,204k. If you want light stick with blackbox. If you want a bloated system run something like desktopx and windows blinds :p
Nightbreed Thanks Shawan. @Roots, blackbox on my system runs at around 4,000k to about 6,000k on mine. DesktopX pro is not bloated if used correctly. Mainly if the widgets are exported as applictions using threading. Though, it is too buggy for everyday usage it's still good for kicking around ideas. As for Photoshop, I've used it since 1.0 on an old mac and with being a graphic designer by trade, I have to be used to it :D Even if blackbox ran at much higher memory usage though, I agree, stick with that if not for stability alone. Best engine to build anything on in my opinion :)
Nightbreed if I remember correctly, Gimp supports slicing doesn't it? I know Paintshop pro, and the new M$ graphics package does. And eek at Windowblinds.. hate that thing :)
Roots Yeah I had only ran desktopx like once and it drove me nuts haha took to much ram and wasn't that cool. I don't know why my blackbox is running so high, guess its the rss feed it does up date every 10 min... hmmm Oh well not like its a big deal! I have a gig of ram ;) I am a computer electonics tech [well I will be next year summer break now] But I love art and photoshop is great for what it does, I have been useing it since 5.0 on old p1's. Ended up takeing a digital arts class in highschool, we used cs. Didn't really get in to pc's till grade 4-5 ish... But I learnt the basics of useing a computer on an old mac's. hehe I have been told by manny of folks that I know far to much about pc's for my own good. I still have lots to learn I think. Being stable is were its at, I have had like maybe one or two crashes with bb this month and they aren't that bad, ctr-alt-del new task browse *blackbox.exe* bam your back up no reboot needed
Nightbreed Yeah, I was going to correct myself on the non-bloatware of desktopx... What I mean to say is, desktopx is great for kicking around ideas 'UNTIL' it crashes and forces me to just stop being lazy and open VS.. :D
Nightbreed Now that I know a little more about rss feed programming it wouldn't be a bad idea to create a background service that grabs feeds and spits em out on bbi objects... I was planning to do something like that with TCL.. but not everyone has tcl4bb working properly so, I think I'll have to use another solution for that.
